Royal Borough of Greenwich Transport Strategy

Closes 19 Oct 2023

Opened 7 Jan 2020

Overview

In early 2018 the Mayor of London released his vision for transport in the capital called the Mayor’s Transport Strategy (MTS).  An accessible version of the staategy has been attached. It sets out how traveling around London by walking, cycling and public transport, in particular, can be improved. Three key themes are at the heart of the MTS:

  1. Healthy streets and healthy people
  2. A good public transport experience
  3. New homes and jobs

This Local Implementation Plan (LIP3) is a statutory document prepared under section 145 of The GLA Act of 1999 and sets out how the Borough will contribute to the implementation of the MTS. The LIP3 contains the Royal Borough’s transport objectives which provide the context for, and help to establish, the Delivery Plan.

Why We Are Consulting

The LIP3 contains the Royal Borough’s transport vision, objectives, and associated delivery plan for transport. Their development has been based on data and evidence regarding local circumstances and priorities. These include issues concerning health, safety, air quality, congestion and accessibility.

However, this can often not always give a complete picture of the issues and challenges facing the Borough. We would therefore like to know your views on the Borough’s transport objectives and priorities as well as the proposed delivery programme set out in the LIP3.
